The selection is open for Zimbabwe’s Representative for ASI Best Sommelier of Europe, Africa, and Middle East 2024 Contest
We are thrilled to announce that Zimbabwe will be represented at the prestigious ASI Best Sommelier of Europe, Africa, and Middle East 2024 Contest! This esteemed competition will be held in Belgrade, Serbia, from November 10th to 15th, 2024, gathering 44 candidates from across these continents to vie for the ultimate titles.
Selection Process:
The selection of Zimbabwe’s candidate for this ASI global event will be conducted through a rigorous assessment of Zimbabwean sommeliers eager to embrace this exhilarating challenge.
How to Participate in the Selection:
If you are a passionate Zimbabwean sommelier eager to showcase your expertise on an international stage, here’s how you can participate in the selection process:
- Express Your Interest: Reach out to info@zimsomms.com expressing your interest in participating in the selection process before the 31st of May 2024
- Having participated to SAZ competitions finals or semi-finals rounds, such as the Ubuntu Trophy or Best Sommelier of Zimbabwe, or having international recognition through your qualification
- Being Zimbabwean Citizen or residing in Zimbabwe for at least the past two years
- Having a passport valid until May 2025.
- Be a paid member of SAZ for at least the past two years, if you have not paid your past memberships yet, it is time to renew
- Accept to participate in the fund raising to finance the travel to Serbia.
- Prepare for Assessment: Once your interest is registered, prepare yourself for the assessment process, where your skills and knowledge will be thoroughly evaluated.
- Showcase Your Expertise: Demonstrate your proficiency in wine tasting, food pairing, wine knowledge, and other relevant areas to stand out as a potential candidate.
- The selection of the SAZ board is final.
